Dork: The Game
May 11th, 2006 by Owen JohnsonA friend of mine has been working on a game that harkens back to the days of the coin-op arcade. When he first told me that he was developing a one-button game, I was skeptical, but intrigued. This lead me to sign up as a beta-tester, where I learned that my video-game addiction is still healthy and strong.
The game, titled Dork: the game, is amazingly fun. Who knew one-button could provide so much entertainment! Dork is currently available for Windows with Mac OS X and Linux releases coming soon. If thinking back to the simpler days of Frogger gives you a warm fuzzy feeling, don’t hesitate to download and try out the Dork free trial!

[this is awesome]
What did he program this in? Does he want a job making video games?
What, are you hiring?
Actually, I already have a job making video games, although so far I don’t get paid for it since nobody’s bought the game yet. I guess if there was a good opportunity I might consider it, although I’m supposed to be working on the Mac port and I’ve got a completely unrelated (non-game) idea that I also want to turn into a company.
Anyway, thanks! I’m glad you like it.
Oh, and Dork is written in C++, with all graphics rendering done in OpenGL.
Yeah, I am.
I work here. If you want to talk about it a little bit, email me at k.fanning/gmail
